This is for the anime, not the game (which came out in 1996). But I am still going to talk about both. I know I am late on the specific date. The game was released on February 27th 1996 and the anime was released on April 1st 1997.
We all know the story right? And the differences between the anime and game? Good. Then let’s continue…

It’s been agreed by many fans that this is worth it. Perhaps it can be said that it’s one of the best games anticipated by Pokémon fans. A game that I’ve waited to be remade for two years and probably much longer for other Pokémaniacs after playing the remake of Red and Blue.
This is it. Finally, Heart Gold and Soul Silver have been released in the UK and after completely it in 2 weeks (From March 27 – April 12 – Total Time: 22:23) which is seen as slow by some hardcore Pokémon players. I can say that I am impressed by the game, even the little changes excited me like seeing your Pokémon follow behind you or how rebuilt the Gyms are. And the newest things such as the Pokémarathon and I have to admit, it is a good idea, I love the events but I do miss the Pokémon Contests in previous games. The Pokéwalker allows you to walk with your Pokémon in order to go up a level or two, find items and catch new Pokémon that may be uncommon in each version. I also couldn’t wait to start – 16 badges and some of my most favourite legendaries.
