Fiction Pet Peeves

fpp Have you ever been so annoyed by a writer’s style before? Fiction, non-fiction or even fanfiction – it doesn’t matter! There is clearly a problem when everyone is having so many pet peeves and to my knowledge, we are finding it hard to find good or even decent fiction these days. This can be improved if writers just look over and read what they have written. If you want more attention for your story, write better! Anyways, let me share with you some of my fiction pet peeves!

Issues with relationship variety shows

issue4

Konno posted on his blog a short while ago about the issues with shows such as We Got Married  and it made me think that there wasn’t enough pointing out about the show. Not only in We Got Married do people see it as a dreamlike world for themselves, but also Mnet Scandal and The Romantic & Idol. These shows have similar elements but also bring a lot of issues with it. Netizens, fans and other viewers don’t seem to realise how sucked they get into watching these shows and thinking it’s a reality.

Of course I’m not talking about every person who watches We Got Married. Most of us enjoy watching it and realise it is not real.

Asianfanfics: Most popular section, Between Fiction and Fact

Recently, I became interested in the “popular…” section on AFF which intrigued me to have a look more into it. If you are on the front page of most popular author for example, your fanfic/s should be featured and good writing style (but not all of them but most of the top 10 have more than one fic with a gold star).

From the top 10 authors, popular views and subscrition stories, the characters usually range from: Big Bang, DBSK, EXO, SHINee, SNSD and Super Junior as the most popular. The majority of fanfics of SM artists does not surprise me being the company with the most groups and fandoms that ship people so much.

A Look at Fanfiction: Video Games, K-Pop and More…

There are a variety of ways to create a fanfic, however one of the most interesting ways that has recently become popular is for a single fan can take on the identity of a character/figure and act as if he or she is that figure in real life. - nolannabi, kpopkollective writer

If you’re a part of a fandom whether it’s a game, book series or artist, Fanfiction is definitely a part of it. After taking a look at articles written about fanfiction, I decided to write my own. Just for a moment, I would like to concentrate on a few categories of fanfiction that I don’t see focused enough in fanfiction articles: Anime, K-Pop and Video Games. Continue reading

Story behind Asianfanfics

Remember I wanted to create a site for people to do fanfiction that was better than Winglin? Well, I’m actually really glad I don’t have to anymore. After all that planning, I gave up and I’ve been pretty busy in my life. But recently one of my friends told me about this site: Asianfanfics and it is much better than Winglin.

It’s amazing because the site started two years ago in April and no-one or myself has ever found it. I’ve heard it’s only got quite popular now. The site was created by a guy named Jason who originally made the site because Winglin kept deleting his girlfriend’s stories (which is why I never post on Winglin anyways). The site evolved from just Taiwanese artists fanfics to a range such as Kpop and Jpop artists. Sadly, his girlfriend died a year later of pneumonia leaving Jason to run the site by himself. However, what I find sweet is that he says “it’s a way for me to honor her memory.” I found more about an interview he had with Time Vault here.

What I like about this site is that it is much easier to search for stories than Winglin ever did. You can even suggest tags!! I’m glad Jason has made such a great site, it’s easier for me to upload fanfics!!

For anyone who wants to know, my account is here and so far, I’ve only posted one fanfic which is a Jay Park, Junsu, Taecyeon, OC story called Tik Tok. If you’re interested in reading, subscribing or being friends just go onto my profile.

Spread the word. Because Hallyuwood is under construction. May I say, because it’s made by me it’s not going to be an offical site like http://www.hallyuwood.com, it will be on forumotion. If you’re not happy, go to Winglin if you like.

The only question is: Would you join and spread the word that it’s coming soon in 2011 for me?

That K-Pop Fanfic Forum? Yeah…

Hey guys!
Once again, I have another holiday where I can take some time to continue doing my K-Pop Fanfiction Forum. Your questions are resolved and have helped me however, the one thing that I really want is…A NAME!!

I’m so picky, but I want a name that has to do with unconcealing the best fanfics people have written for K-Pop that have such a good plot and can be found in a reliable source – which should be the forum that I plan to make – if only you guys can help me a little more.
