What’s your purpose as a YouTube dancer?

Note: This article relates to YouTubers who do dance covers to Asian Pop.

After reading Nia’s Wonderland post about YouTube idols, I felt that I should write a similar article regarding the topic. But then the article developed observation of people who do dance covers and the – let’s say – typical issues with it.

We all fit into the fandom in our own ways because of our participation in the fandom. I find that blogging and doing dance covers is something that I have become accustomed to, dancing especially. However because of my growing responsibilities with family and university, I’ve had less time to learn and have fun doing dances. In my absence, I started viewing other YouTube dancers, subscribed to a few and left some advice. But I’m always so conflicted whenever I watch a dance cover whether they should be fun or whether people actually care about improving their skills.

K-Pop companies and their “World Tours”

A word of advice, never believe a world tour is a “world tour”.

There are a lot of international fans who have not understood that when K-Pop companies say World Tour, why do you all believe it’s going to be every city in the world with at least two or three countries in each continent? Please, wake up! Let me take this upcoming Big Bang Alive Tour in London as an example.

UK K-Pop fans have experienced meeting more idols than I have ever expected to see this year. 2011 has seen the likes of many Korean celebrities from Rain to SHINee come from events, concerts or sightings in our country. BEAST is Shocking! BoA and Se7en – YES!

Looks like 2010 may be an upcoming good year because of the comebacks from:
BoA
Lee Hyori
Rain
Se7en

I guess that among these four, BoA and Se7en matter most because they haven’t been seen for more than 2 years in Korea unlike Lee Hyori and Rain but I can’t wait for their comeback.

Right now, though is BEAST’s time and oh my gosh, it’s shocking…

Looks like we have reached the end of an eventful year in J-Pop and especially, K-Pop. I would like to say, despite my lack of knowledge of the J-Pop World for 3 years, I can say the world of J-Pop and K-Pop seemed more calmer at the start of the year compared to the drama that later unfolding in the following months. Let’s recap what happened in the year of 2009 of J-Pop and K-Pop, from my standards and choices, of course.
