5 reasons why watching walkthroughs is okay

Uploading walkthroughs has developed in the past few years from people posting written ones to adding guided tutorials on YouTube. Say what you want but there are times when I just sit down, do some work while watching game walkthroughs (or all cutscenes) instead of playing a game. Video games nowadays have become so realistic in terms of graphics and gameplay that most of the time I prefer to just watch instead of taking the controller. Here are five reasons why watching game walkthroughs is not a bad thing: Continue reading

Game Freak, what is Pokémon X and Y?

Hearing about this a few hours ago, I had to give my opinion about this announcement. As much as I love Pokémon, I was so disappointed at first in this decision. All I wanted was a Ruby/Sapphire remake yet they have decided to make a 3DS game instead. I had a feeling this would come out one day but man, not now.

Best & Worst of 2012: End of Year Review

jk

Oh look guys! We aren’t dead – as I expected! Apparently it’s been delayed to 2015 now!

Anyways, after the 2009, 2010 and 2011 yearly posts, here is the long awaited 2012 one. But these days, I have no idea what is the best, I can see more things are the worst.

25 years of Final Fantasy

I’m doing this based on the anniversary date of the first game but I also wanted to make a post before 2012 ends. Final Fantasy 25th Anniversary is something amazing to talk about. The first Final Fantasy was released on December 18th 1987. That’s today!

15 years of Pokémon

pok

This is for the anime, not the game (which came out in 1996). But I am still going to talk about both.  I know I am late on the specific date. The game was released on February 27th 1996 and the anime was released on April 1st 1997.

We all know the story right? And the differences between the anime and game? Good. Then let’s continue…

Expectations for Dynasty Warriors 8

Since Dynasty Warriors 8 has been announced, I’ve played every Dynasty Warriors game except for the first one and I have noticed the series needs some improvements that Koei should pick up on. I’ve been playing Dynasty Warriors 7 since I purchased it earlier this year and there are a few things I like from the game.

  1. The addition of using more animals by your side like a wolf, panda or even a falcon was pretty cool.
  2. I like the graphics and some of the character’s outfit designs.
  3. The Musou mode takes a turn on the kingdom’s story based more than the characters so it gives players more of the storyline that went on in the Han Dynasty.
  4. I like that Conquest mode gives you something else to apart from focusing on the story.
  5. The addition of Jin is nice.

But that’s it! Dynasty Warriors 3 (and even 5) would satisfy me better. Now here’s my list of expectations: Continue reading

If Rockstar ever included a female protagonist in a GTA game…

Article has been expanded on 10/12/12 and the previous one can be displayed here.

Could they? Would they ever consider it? It wasn’t until before the news of Grand Theft Auto V having multiple protagonists that I began to ponder this. I ventured into Grand Theft Auto forums and related articles for more of the fans opinions.

“I do feel sorry for all the women enjoying GTA while waiting for a female protagonist, but I think it wouldn’t suit the game in the same way as Vercetti or Bellic has and will do respectively.

I apologise to the women but I think men look better (personally)”

Games I would recommend to play

Games these days are getting so realistic that I was thinking of a list of games that I would recommend people to play or simply watch. There are games that I cannot afford and the only option is to watch the walkthrough online (or maybe just the cutscenes).

In no order.

A Look at Fanfiction: Video Games, K-Pop and More…

There are a variety of ways to create a fanfic, however one of the most interesting ways that has recently become popular is for a single fan can take on the identity of a character/figure and act as if he or she is that figure in real life. - nolannabi, kpopkollective writer

If you’re a part of a fandom whether it’s a game, book series or artist, Fanfiction is definitely a part of it. After taking a look at articles written about fanfiction, I decided to write my own. Just for a moment, I would like to concentrate on a few categories of fanfiction that I don’t see focused enough in fanfiction articles: Anime, K-Pop and Video Games. Continue reading
