Perfect Blue – Reflection of the industry

Boy, was this a creepy but interesting film! Perfect Blue follows Mima, an ex-member of a Japanese pop-idol group called “CHAM!” from the beginning of the film, who – in my opinion – has to follow a career as an actress. You can also see it as a reflection of the entertainment industry that I like to focus on in Japan and Korea. Spoilers below.

10 K-Dramas Rankings

Frankly, I don’t like K-Dramas. I’ve only watched them for the hype/popularity, recommendation or because a certain person/people are in the drama. I have only ever watched 10 K-Dramas and 4 J-Dramas. Some did spark my interest but there are probably 2/10 of the K-Dramas that interested me the most. I don’t know how people love them so much and can re-watch them so many times – Korean dramas are so long.

By the way, this is not a review. More like a ranking of which dramas I could bare with.

Best & Worst of 2010: End of Year Review

Got to say in terms of 2010, it’s been a pretty tiresome year. J-Pop has made me realise some things that I never knew before – in a negative way. K-Pop has just upset me so much despite comebacks of my favourites and news that depressed me. It’s not all been so bad but…I had kind of hoped from all the artists that came back (e.g. Queens of J-Pop were present this year, BoA and Se7en who have been seen for years) that they would have a bigger success than usual.
