London Stop: 100% KPP World Tour 2013

So now you guys want to hear about the Kyary concert right? People have been waiting! Different people have different experiences so I’m going to tell you what I thought about the concert.

First of all, upon arriving at Islington whenever you go to a concert you always notice certain fans want to stand out with their love for the artist or idol and dress similar to them. Do you know how many people dressed in the Ponponpon outfits? I have no pictures but there was quite a few. Not only that but a few girls dressed up in Tsukema Tsukeru, Fashion Monster, gyaru or lolita style clothes. It’s nice to copy their fashion but when it’s snowing and half the girls are standing outside with their legs or arms exposed, I’m trying to wonder if they caught anything after the concert…

Now one thing that bothered me was the tickets said the concert would start at 7PM yet why did it start late? An hour and a half. Maybe there was problems with equipment or getting people in on time but I don’t give a damn. If the concert is supposed to start at 8:15, please put that on the tickets instead. The Islington arena is really small and can hold 600 people but people still felt the need to slyly go in front of you even though the stage is easy for everyone to see.

Nevertheless, I’m glad Kyary finally came out because I felt like I was waiting forever for her to come. She is really pretty and so adorable. Kyary performed all her singles along with songs from her new album and previous mini album. Her newest single, Ninjari Bang Bang was performed as well which is quite good.

Kyary Kids were amazing! I’m a bit sad that there was only two of them and two male dancers. At least they were juking it and I finally got to see them dance to Cherry Bon Bon. She did an encore of Tsukema Tsukeru which was nice. I wish the concert was longer than an hour and a half but then again she doesn’t have enough material and she’s only one girl who can only perform for so long.

I GOT INTERVIEWED! Look at 3:17 and 3:50 for a girl with a grey hat!

And for the people saying she must be expressionless on stage, she wasn’t. Kyary was smiling and had plenty of expressions on her face. It’s too bad she didn’t derp once.

At the end, I gave one of the staff a letter to give to Kyary so I hope she received it. Sorry for my rubbish fancam below. People would not let a 5″2 person see clearly and were greedy to get closer and closer despite the place was tiny anyways. My friend had some girl try and push her forward as well.

  2. After toning my calf muscles ten-fold by standing on my tiptoes the whole time during the Berryz Koubou concert, I’m going to remember to dress in some 5 inch heels the next performance I go to.

The first song is Girigiri Safe from her Pamyu Pamyu Revolution album. Not sure about the second one.

  3. you saw more than i did. got fed up of all the tall people pushing their way to the front and decided to move to the back to get away from them. If it wasn’t for them, the concert would have been a lot better then what it was.

  4. Good report, NyNy. It’s nice to know what’s going on. Thanks for dropping by my blog and commenting. It’s very new and it’s mostly jazz and 70s jazz fusion, but I’m working up some posts on Kyary because she fascinates me from a cultural perspective. I’m too old for the music, but might go with some family to see an exhibit of her outfits in Tokyo next month, and maybe get some pictures. Thanks again!

  5. Ahhh that late start D: was so rubbish having to wait in the cold xD and yes Ninjari Bang Bang was AMAZING <3 ahhh nice review ^ ^ (I had totally seen it posted on Facebook…somewhere, maybe KPP UK group? I don't even know :3)

  6. You are so lucky to see her live, especially to see a Japanese artist in England. Maybe I didn’t know Japanese music well then, but when I was in the UK, there were never any Japanese bands.
