Resolutions and Hopes for 2013

wg1

Gorgeous girls! Sad there won’t be a comeback of theirs in 2013 ;__;

Did you guys have a nice New Years? My annual report has been completed thanks to WordPress. I think it’s pretty cute so I wanted to share it with you all! After taking a look at Nia’s Hope and Dreams for 2013, I thought I would do my own plus share with you all my New Year Resolutions since we are all in the new year now.

Hopes for 2013:

  • Broken Sword 5, Dynasty Warriors 8, Grand Theft Auto 5: They are my most anticipated games of this year, I have been playing them all way since my childhood. I want to get GTA 5 as soon as it comes out and I’ve already pre-ordered BS5 back in September. DW8 will have to wait a few months until after Korea so I can purchase it.
  • Quality music of K-Pop changes my view: If you read my post, Best & Worst of 2012 you would see how unhappy I was with K-Pop in 2012. It was forgettable, less catchy for me and pretty bland. K-Pop really gives me the impression that it is making the Hallyu Wave worse. I have no expectations this year so surprise me Korean producers.
  • 2PM has a decent quality comeback: Please just please. Hands Up was a good comeback song, the album was a let down to be honest but I still jammed to it in Summer 2011. A lot of people want them to go back to their Again & Again days but sadly mid 2009 K-Pop isn’t going to comeback so I’m hoping for something good.
  • Good news for JYJ and Jay Park: This was honestly just a random thought but in the past two years, they have had a lot to deal with and I hope in 2013, they will have a much better year with good news coming their way.
  • 2PM Minjun (Jun.K) gets a solo album: Been waiting since March 2011 so whenever he is ready, I will buy it or when JYP and the company lets the reigns go on popularity over talent.
  • Tsunku continues with 2012 quality H!P music: WANT!, Kanashiki Heaven, One Two Three and many more songs have. Even now, Help Me! sounds promising and I hope it continues this way.
  • A new H!P group and soloist please: Since Mano Erina is leaving and even though there is three new generations of Morning Musume plus S/mileage 2nd gen but a new group and soloist would be a new turn. At least, I want it!
  • Possible Utada comeback: I doubt Sakura Nagashi signals anything of a comeback soon but I really hope there is a possibility. Utada will let us know soon I hope.

New Year’s Resolutions:

  • Saving money: Not only for my future, but hopefully so I can go Korea by the end of this year. I’ve already saved more than £1000 but now I need to find a paid internship or apprenticeship right now to earn more money.
  • 100,000 hits on NyNyOnline: At the moment, I am at 38,000+ which doesn’t seem like much now. It may be a high goal but if I blog, promote, visit other blogs weekly who knows? In November, my blog hit some new achievements and I would love to break them this year twice as high maybe.
  • Be a better blogger and write about video games more: My writing needs to improve even more than ever and I want to be recongised more with blogging. Video games is something I have loved since my dad first bought me and my sister a Sega Megadrive and I want to get more into the gaming industry now.
  • Going to one society event a month: If I have the money to travel all the time (travel in London went up as usual! -_-)! But my University and the ones around it have so many events and languages exchanges that it would help if I go there sometimes and at least try and speak to some people there who like the same things I do no? It’s worth a try…
  • Studying Japanese and Korean once a week: I really hate studying but in order for me to improve in the languages that I love doing, I must take this commitment seriously. Especially Korean, it’s got worse and I need it to benefit me if I do go to Korea.

Please tell me what your New Years Resolutions and hopes for 2013 are, guys. Do you have any?I am taking a more interest in Momoiro Clover Z, Fairies and Tokyo Girl’s Style so does anyone want to recommend me some songs from the groups?

I leave you with Yuya for the new year!

I was going to post this on the 31st but man, I spent my first New Year’s Eve going out with friends all around London! Hope you all reach your goals and resolutions in 2013!

  1. Hopes:
    - Arashi releases singles that I like more, and just more singles releases than 2011 and 2012 (stuff like 2010)
    - Brown Eyed Girls have a full ‘comeback’ and that they are as awesome as ever
    - More K-Pop artists touch on issues that are not currently common in K-Pop (think NU’EST’s Face and Miss A’s I Don’t Need A Man)
    - AKB experiments more with the singles and challenging themselves like singing live more frequently (they did on CDTV on 130101) and difficult choreography (like UZA).

    Resolutions:
    - Read a novel in Japanese
    - See someone in concert while I am in Japan
    - Watch more Japanese television and movies (preferably without subtitles)
    - Study Kanji more often than I do now (which isn’t much)

    Recommendations:
Fairies: Hero, White Angel, Beat Generation, One Love
Momoclo: Ikuze! Kaito Shoujo, Saraba. . . (they like long titles for songs), Mirai Bowl, Kimi to Sekai, Chai Maxx, D’ no Junjou
Tokyo Girls Style: Liar, Limited Addiction, Tsuioku, Love like Candy Floss, Himawari to Hoshikuzu, Kodou no Himitsu

  2. My resolution is simply to not waste so much time. I know it sounds stupid, but it really I need a goal like that to reach my more specific goals. XD

My favorite Fairies songs are More Kiss and Beat Generation, so if you haven’t already, be sure to listen to those! :)

  3. Happy New Year! I meant to say one of my resolutions was to read more blogs instead of just writing mine, so I’m glad you led me here! (I like that Yuya guy for a start, definitely need to Google him :D )

Good luck with the resolutions, especially the two languages!! That’s hardcore!

  4. I think the only thing I would disagree with would be the catchiness in K-Pop part, because while it’s good to have a song that sticks in a good way, a big problem of mine with K-Pop had been the catchiness over substance part because artists were opting for catchy pop songs over anything with actual content and purpose. T-ara is a great example of that, as they started on a great path with “Breaking Heart”, which definitely had its share of catchy, but it wasn’t only about that, but as soon as they got to “Yayaya”, it all went downhill for me. I think K-Pop is just in a process of re-invention at this point and maybe it’s not a quality problem as much as an identity one.

I hope you’re able to achieve your goal of 100,000 views this year! :D Just make sure all your promotion is positive and not going to turn into counter-promotion, as you visit other people’s blogs, and I’m sure you’ll make it because you have a great blog and you articulate yourself very well! Good luck! ♡

    • I think that’s what I’m hoping K-Pop to be honest! Catchy but not genric. T-ara really have taken a bad turn after Yayaya till now.

Promotion is something I find hard doing especially when I visit other people’s blogs but I still want to grab their attention and get their opinion. And thank you very much for your comment! I appreciate it!

  5. Hi! Since you have read my resolutions for 2013, I would share with you my hopes :)

I would love to see a good Korean comeback song for 2PM, 2AM, F(x) and a lot more “veteran” artist this year like Lee Hyori. I think 2012 is so full of rookies and I hate to say this but a lot of those rookies were kinda forgettable because they are too many. I also hope for good quality Kpop songs and not just catchy tunes.

I hope you’ll reach all your goals! Good luck! :)

  6. These are nice resolutions, and thanks for commenting on my blog.

My only hopes for 2013 is to keep writing my own blog and maybe write more about anime. I kind of do quite a bit of writing on video games on my own blog, but I wish to keep the variety on my blog.

Good luck with your resolutions and I hope you have a lovely 2013!

  7. Hopes:
Seconded on that Utada comeback. I also hope that Otsuka Ai makes a comeback. I’d also hope for Okuda Miwako but I’m not holding my breath. (She’s got a bit of an older Jpop/rock style, but check her out if you want to hear some nice vocals. ^^)

I think I might make a resolution to experiment with my writing style on Zombie Zombie a bit more. :)

Good luck with your job-hunting and monetary endeavours!

  8. “It was forgettable, less catchy for me and pretty bland.”
I totally agree with you on this statement! K-pop truly seemed to take a step down in terms of the fan’s enjoyment. I think most of the K-pop enjoyment of 2012 really came from the many scandals -.- But 2013 looks bright, I am optimistic about the many comebacks!

Can you enlighten me a little about this TVXQ and JYJ thingy – were the members themselves ever in dispute?? I definitely would be extremely happy if they reunited, they were one of my favourite boybands when I first started diving into K-pop :D

    • No, the members were never in dispute. It was between JYJ and SME but I think it was awkward for TVXQ to talk to JYJ especially with them diverting being on the same shows or getting JYJ removed from programs secretly which has got to be from SME orders.

Me too! They were one of my favourite boy groups too :)

      • Oic… I commonly see the fans of TVXQ and JYJ in conflict but maybe it’s just the “louder” ones on the forums and youtube comments… I think many people will be happy if they reunited soon!

      • Yes, unfortunately most fans are now divided which I think is ridiculous because they used to support all 5 and many feel they can only support TXVQ or JYJ and not both.

OMG, it would be a joyful day if they did!

  9. I’m happy to meet people around world who loves K-POP ^^
Annyeonghaseyo~Winda Imnida~ I’m from Indonesia ^^ Nice to meet you..

ah,talk about your resolutions, some of them were my resolutions too kekeke
esp for “Studying Japanese and Korean once a week” but maybe I will replace it with Germany, English and Korea :D hahaha
AH and for your those hopes,I wish B2ST would come back too ^^ also about their concert in my country~ kekekeke ah this March they would come to make music bank concert, but I guess I won’t come T^T so sad…

“Saving money: Not only for my future, but hopefully so I can go Korea by the end of this year. I’ve already saved more than £1000 but now I need to find a paid internship or apprenticeship right now to earn more money.”
lets save the money to go to Korea :D hahahaha
