I had another post ready for something else but that can wait. Tanaka Reina is graduating from Morning Musume!
Another Yossi and Platinum Era member is leaving. Honestly, was I the only one who was not shocked? She was never one of my favourites but we should have been prepared for this when the band auditions were announced. Man, the H!P fandom seem to be taking a loss out of this.
From my opinion and not anyone elses, it was going to happen soon. It’s good to see her leave but also stay in music because that’s what Reina is good at. Like I said above, she was never one of my favourites in the 6 years I’ve been in a Morning Musume fan but I wish her the best of luck. She was a part of the lineup that I got into Morning Musume with Yossie as the leader back in late 2006 and it’s really sad to see after so many years that after her, Sayumi will be the last one and then Morning Musume I used to know back then will be completely different. No wonder the concert was named after Michishige, it’s probably more of a focus on her and the new generations.
It will give more focus to Riho and Sakura more but I want the others girls to sing just as much especially Mizuki, Masaki and Haruka who seem to be improving.
Loads of people seem to be in a loss but don’t worry guys! It’s not as if Reina is disappearing from the music scene forever (I wish Niigaki was still singing more), she’s just not going to be in H!P. So for all the Reina fans who are upset about her leaving, do not worry. You can still support her in this new band. I’m quite excited for this band because it will draw attention and plus they have 93′ liners in it! Marin, Yuki and Marina all look appealing and match up to Reina’s style so I have a good feeling about them.

I really think it’s just H!O that was shocked. Seriously, some of those people are just beating themselves with illusion and fantasy. Thinking that Reina was going to stay until 2014…. REALLY? Anyway, I can’t say I’m sad, at all..

I used to think that I would be sad when Reina graduates, since she had been a favorite of mine for a while. But honestly, with her new music act moments away from beginning I’m not that sorry. I suppose I’ve been expecting her to graduate for a while. With Oda Sakura ready to sing, it was just a matter of time.
With Reina, I am more excited that she is doing a band, than being an Idol .Her voice and style works well with rock music. If they are allowed to write their own songs even better for my interest.
Seeing Reina leave will be the end of my world. And, on the official announcement, it said that she will be graduating Hello!Project as well. Meaning, her band would have to be under UFA or another related group since she’s graduating H!P as well.
As for naming the group, I was playing around with some words and here are the ones I came up with:
乙女ｘ愛 | OtomeｘAi | Girl’s Love (technically, its in reverse order, but i thought otome ai sounded better than ai otome)
少女Ｘ | Shoujo X | Girl X
I’m leaning more towards OtomeｘAi.

Now I have more time to think about it, Reina is way better off to start her own band than stay in MM. She likes to try new things, and it’ll be much cooler to see her rock image (than say, the idol image).
Tsunku has always thought highly of Reina, so I’m confident he’ll look after her new band well.
I think they need 1 drummer, and a bass, right? Does it mean 6 ppl in her band?
Actually, there is no plan to have a drummer or bass player.
But, as we all know, Tsunku is a little troll and could possibly have a surprise announcement about it anytime.
When band was announced, a lot of people (not me xD) thought about graduation…….they were right…as you said here “we should have been prepared for this when the band auditions were announced”…..
She wasn´t my favourite (singer or member, i think she sings well though) but i wish her luck……i don´t know why but maybe i will like her more in the band than in Momusu….
Now Sayumi has to work harder, i hope she will be fine ^^
I am so excited for this band!! I hope they release a single before she graduates so they can perform at the Spring Tour for some publicity. 8D
Personally, Reina needed to go, a long time ago…but I think Tsunku really wanted her to stay. Plus, the whole Oda being an amazing singer, really gave Reina that leeway to leave. Her new band is cool, reminds me of Scandal haha~ I won’t be naming her band because I can never think of anything cool haha~ I hope her new music will be fun and exciting!
