I haven’t been writing lately but I have been keeping up with the latest on T-ara and Nichkhun’s car accident. Nichkhun’s accident seems to have been brushed to the side since T-ara crisis has been more in the public’s eye. But it seems more and more people are comparing it to the 2009/10 drama that was 2PM and Jay Park’s scandal.
To be honest they are quite different but at the same time, a bit similar.
Jay Park’s accident is nothing compared to T-ara bullies for me.
I believe he was not bullied to leave and we know an addition to the group and I could never see him be picked on by the others as bad as Hwayoung. We will never know the true intention of why Jay “left” (or whatever it was that got his contract terminated) but we do know why Hwayoung has apart from this other thing that KKS says that she has misbehaved in which the company is not telling us.
That’s another thing, I do not trust the CEO one bit. JYP has had his problems and bad choices but hes also viewed as a CEO with passion for music and in my opinion, treats his idols as his colleagues.
KKS is viewed by most people (in and out of the industry) as money focused slave driver. And his money is made from T-ara so that’s probably why for the past year he’s been treating them like machines. Have you ever seen him leave his company to support T-ara? Because I haven’t personally.
What bugged me also was that Eunjung said in Star Life Theater that when their CEO said they were adding two members, she thought it was because they were slacking or something and didn’t like the idea of more members. Maybe the CEO should have listened to them a year ago, when the girls were complaining about not having time off he should have given them what they needed to let them rest and replenish their energy.
I won’t believe the sasaeng accounts about what 2PM did to Jay (except maybe Chansung drinking at a young age) but I could believe these ones about Hwayoung. Plus, sasaeng’s have a small amount of credibility since they do tend to follow around their biases at every minute of the day, but what pulls them down is that they exaggerate and lie about certain situations in regards to the group. Maybe it’s the same for T-ara?
All we’ve seen is evidence of T-ara bullying Hwayoung but apparently there is something more that she has done wrong herself and most of the current things we know. The slap reported by a dancer is fake. The Eunjung post on cyworld is fake. And now most people are confused and saying the evidence is made-up or rumours.
At first I thought to blame T-ara and the company. But the more I read people’s responses, the more my view changed. Yeah, T-ara should not have bullied Hwayoung but I also blame company for the way they have handled this situation badly and did not stop the bullying towards her.
At the end of the day, I do not believe they will be the second 2PM but I also do not think they will disband, just lose a large amount of fans and respect. Someone said boy groups are usually forgiven more than girl groups so it will take a while for T-ara to regain their popularity and get back to the spot.
This will follow the girls for the rest of their idol careers. It will stay in the media for a while. Even with the Jay Park situation, to this day, it haunts Jay Park and 2PM, but they’re both still pretty much loved by the public which I am grateful for. But still fans of both fandoms argue and other K-Pop fandoms continue to bring it up e.g. Khun’s car accident, I’ve seen people do it.

I wish the best for Hwayoung and the rest of T-ara. They are both gonna need it for the next few months.
