Firstly, HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all!
There’s a reason why I can see people want new and younger people in a group now – because they bring a lot of attention (e.g fans especially older men who like to look at someone young) and gain popularity for the group. I was so glad to come back from a Japanese day out to see that the 9th generation members were revealed. And to my surprise instead of it being 2-3 like I guessed, it turned out 4 members have been decided upon. I hope these four help rise MoMu’s popularity back and yes, dare I say to AKB48 fans – fight back!! That group is purely fanservice in my opinion.

I thought it was going to be 2 or 3 but 4 is great! I’m so glad he added an Egg though (her name is Fukumura Muzuki) because I think they needed to be added into more groups and I’m glad one is in Morning Musume now. Because I honestly don’t know anything about the Eggs (trainees if you don’t know anything about Hello Project) except on Hello!Project Wiki, it has their names on there. I’m not surprised about age because that’s the youngest any Morning Musume has been (Kago, Tsuji, Niigaki and Reina were 12 when they joined), Tsunku likes them young.
Riho looks like Momoko to me and stands as my favourite right now from the information Jin has provided on his post about the 9th generation. Perhaps Erina comes second cause I love natural beauties.
Who is your favourite 9th generation girl so far? Do you think Morning Musume will gain their popularity back? I damn hope so.
Sayashi Riho is easily my favorite. The girl is really quite talented, and I hope she can put that talent to work and help push the group forward.
As for gaining their popularity back, I dunno. While I certainly don’t think they’ll ever quite get back to the million sales “LOVE Machine” days, I DO think they can, and should capitalize on this. They’d be fools not to. Still, I find it slightly disconcerting that they did this reveal in a concert rather than a TV special…
While I think 9 members is a good size for Morning Musume I’m slightly concerned that nearly half the group is rather fresh. Of course the Egg should be able to adapt fairly quickly and Sayashi Riho shouldn’t struggle too much with choreography, I still think it’ll be hard on the 5 current/carryover members.
Riho is my #1 favorite cause she has some serious talent and I’m attracted to that.
Kanon is my 2nd cause I like someone with a touch of funny to them.
Erina is beautiful I’ll give her that but talent and personality is what I lock-on to.
Mizuki I have no idea, give me some time.
