This is the reason why I don’t care much for the artists this year and want to go back to 2007/2008.
Don’t believe me? Look at the comments on YouTube towards this year’s K-Pop artists. Of course it’s not her fault that her videos are out-of-this-world abnormal and full of subliminal messages. But since she reached success with Poker Face and Just Dance, she has been mentioned more and more into other K-Pop artists video.s Not forgetting she was interviewed in Korea.
CL and Key’s outfit at Gayo Daejun comparision to Lady GaGa:
Take a look at Key and CL for instance. CL’s outfit at the Gayo Daejun cause a stir when she performed G-Dragon’s Heartbreaker
wearing a swimsuit. So many people said she was trying to dress like Lady GaGa and her stage presence was like hers. Netizens probably forgot CL was in 2NE1, not a solo artist.
And Key, well…he’s a Diva! He loves Lady GaGa and Ke$ha so him dressing up like them doesn’t surprise me one bit.

It doesn’t matter to me but apparently due to the uniqueness of his video, he was compared to Lady GaGa because the video was strange and all e.g. apple representing heart.

Just because Lady Gaga comes out with the weird and strange doesn’t mean every artist in Korea is copying her. She copied people too, nothing is original in this world anymore which is probably why in K-Pop, my expectations are getting higher and higher every year.
That’s why I don’t listen to any new groups this year (except miss A and F.Cuz) because they have no originality and they aren’t needed compared to last year when we needed more girl groups (Only KARA, SNSD and Wonder Girls were the only girl groups before 2009).Se
I’m surprised that you restricted yourself from listening to any new groups just because of the comments everyone are saying.
Even if they are “copying”(or even being influenced) by Gaga(or whoever Gaga is influenced by), just because they do something ~abnormal~ am I going to relate them to Gaga. >_<
I'm def not gonna let Gaga(even if I do like her[more for her influence in the gay community than for her music]) stop me from listening to the awesome debuts this year.
It’s not only that but there are just TOO many new groups in K-Pop so it’s so annoying that they all start pouring out once a week.
Yea almost every person who sees anyone else doing something that’s not the norm compare it to Gaga like she invented weird or something. It’s very frustrating
I have not heard any of Lady Gaga’s song or watched her videos but everybody is comparing artists (also in Jpop) to LG because she’s making strange the norm. It’s sad and maybe a little offensive to the artists. Originality is hard to come across these days and perhaps she is ripping off from others so why does she get all the credit?
LOL. Nice one. When I write something on the internet comparing it to Lady GaGa I mean “weird”. If I look at a man who is going crazy all over the street I just say “He’s a Lady GaGa”. That’s because Lady GaGa has taken the new theme for the word “Wierd”. I sense how you feel. It’s true that GaGa is weird. When I saw Ayumi Hamasaki’s video for “Sexy Little Things” I compared it to GaGa cause it was weird. Anything weird is now compared to GaGa. Though, it’s annoying, it’s quite true.
It annoys me too. Not only are people comparing Korean artist with Lady Gaga, but other artist. It’s just that no one has seen someone as “weird” as Lady Gaga, so anyone who does anything that’s abnormal then it has to be them copying Lady Gaga.
I don’t really like saying something is “Lady Gaga-ish” because I always believe they’re trying something new.
But like you my expectations for K-Pop has grown and because of that I’ve gotten a lot of disappointment. Lady Gaga has also ruined my love for K-Pop.
Didn’t you know? Lady Gaga invented music. And breathing -.-
