  1. Yeah, I’m going to hope Justin Bieber doesn’t last. He’s talentless, imo. Once his voice changes and he loses that fresh, babyfaced look he’s got now, I think we won’t see him anymore. Kinda like what happened to Aaron Carter.

  2. Well, if you are talking about making it in the states, the Jay Effect might take years. If “Hype Nation” is a success, then months maybe. Bieber Fever is still going on. I still hear a lot of girls who like bad music talk about him. Justin Bieber will soon lose his voice, lose his face and soon… everything. He is MORE famous than Jay for now, but the future could change. Since Jay is acting movies, singing, and dancing he will gain interest. Though some might not like him cuz of his race. Some might make fun. If “Hype Nation” becomes bigger than Rain’s “Ninja Assassin”, then Jay is going somewhere.

  3. I dunno who I hate more. xD The wannabe ghetto asian or the wannabe ghetto white kid.
I seriously hate them both equally, I can’t choose between the two.
I’m gonna suppose that the Bieber Fever is gonna be as strong in years to come, though I’m hoping it’ll die down.

    There both such posers. -_-

      • His look and the way he presents himself. He’s a bit too cocky for me.

Plus, the “ghetto asian” thing which is a total turn off for me. xp

      • You make it seem like Asians can’t do that style. I don’t know how Jay Park can come off as “Wannabe Ghetto.” Style like that is popular in Asia too. You probably don’t mean it that way, but that’s how it comes off.

    • That’s why they’re called performers/entertainers. You may have to look harder to find some that fit your style. Can’t understand how anyone could hate Jaebum. Very passionate, talented, and a cutie.

    • Bieber Fever is stronger, but I prefer Jay Effect. Bieber’s not as talentless as some say, though.(No, I do not like him)

  4. As much as I dislike Bieber, I must admit, he’s almost everywhere in the radios now, at least in my country. I’m not too sure about his singing abilities, but his voice at the moment is a huge turn-off. (He’s around my brother’s age and yet sounds so much younger than my brother.. oh man..)
I’m not to familair with how the entertainment industry works in the US, but I think Bieber might last longer.

    Why?

Maybe because Jay looks more Asian. I don’t see many Asians (or Asian-looking) people making it big, unlike non-Asians. It’s kinda sad, but, well, it’s just the way it is.. I guess..

    • Asians stars are big in Asia. I don’t see how Jaebum can be compared with Bieber. It seems insulting on Jay’s part.

      • It’s not insulting. I just want to see the difference because the Jay Effect could spread to America if Jay debuts there.

  5. hmm am I the only one that DOESN’T hate either one of these kids? XD. I don’t really have a preference… both have a limited lifespan, and if either them what their stardom to last they will have to step up their game. Although- I think Beiber antis need to give him just a smidgeon of credit- check out his older Youtube videos… he does have SOME talent behind that baby face. Objectively speaking I don’t really think the “Jay Effect” will get anywhere as big as Beiber Fever because… well, Jay is Asian, pure and simple. Let’s face it, have you EVER seen an Asian POP STAR make it big here? I mean, Asian stars have only become STARS for fitting into the stereotypical “Asian” role in the West (Jackie Chan- martial arts master)… I think this who Asian pop star singing western style music is just going to come off as “ripoff-ish” to the mainstream audience.

    • Hmm, you must have misunderstood me, I do not hate Bieber. Hate is a very strong word, yes?

I just dislike his voice in ‘Baby’. I haven’t listened to his newer songs, where my siblings have observed that his voice has broken and became deeper(I will do so, soon).

I do not doubt his singing abilities, and I will not comment on it, as I’ve only heard, what, one song? It isn’t enough to judge him.

About the voice breaking issue, well, I’ve seen a particular boy, barely 15, praised by many people (including vocal teachers) for his wonderful singing voice and abilities. He even came in top for a singing national competition. But, after his voice broke, he didn’t sound as great as before anymore and I was a tad disappointed.

Haha, about Jay vs Bieber, well, I’m not an American, but yes, I do notice that Asians do not do as well as Americans or westerners. Yes, K-pop may be slowly becoming more popular, but no, Asian singers will not be as popular. And I’m glad that someone shares my views on this matter. =)
Well, I didn’t know that having an Asian pop star singing western style would be considered as ‘ripoff-ish’.. Mm..

    • Like mentioned before, Asian stars are big in Asia. They’re very talented in singing in a variety of styles whether it’s African-influenced or Asian-influenced. Not sure why it’s so important to be big in the States when a majority of Asian stars like Jaebum have fans are in Asia. I hope Jay’s name doesn’t get put next Beiber again. This is so annoying.

  6. Personally, I think for his age, Justin Bieber has a lot of talent, but other people are just much more talented. Since America is just experiencing the Hallyu Wave, I think many are going to be interested in Jay Park and that he’s here to stay.
